Your first match
You are not playing for kills. You are playing for presence in a two-kilometre box.

Overview
WARDOGS looks like a large-scale shooter and scores like a territory game. Understanding the scoring in your first match is worth more than any weapon choice you could make.
The Control Zone
A randomised area roughly two kilometres square sits inside a much larger battlefield. Every 22 seconds, the faction with the most players inside the zone takes a point. First to 100 points wins, and there is no time cap: the quickest possible match is 36 minutes 40 seconds, and a contested one runs much longer.
The Hot Zone
A smaller area inside the Control Zone with its own presence, entry and contested rewards in your reward feed. The faction score itself comes from the zone tick, so the Hot Zone pays you, while bodies in the zone win the match.
What to actually do
Buy something modest, get into the zone, stay near teammates and watch how money arrives. Kills are useful because a dead enemy is not counted in the next tick — not because the scoreboard rewards them.
The map is mostly travel
The battlefield is on the order of 256 square kilometres and the zone is a small slice of it. Getting there is a real part of the game, which is why transport roles matter.
