Overview
There are three factions and they share an armoury. Anyone telling you one has better weapons or unique abilities is describing a different game.
What the factions are
Lonestar, Valkyra and Manticore. They are identity and presentation — who you deploy with and what you look like doing it.
What they are not
They are not asymmetric. The same equipment is available across all three, and there are no faction abilities or faction classes — fan sites that describe them are wrong. Early Access messaging has been explicit that there is no pay-to-win progression attached to them.
Choose for coordination
The only meaningful reason to pick one is to be on the same side as the people you play with. Split squads across factions and you are fighting each other.
