Underwater Labs
Sealed labs on the sea floor with a full green, blue and red card chain — reached by submarine or by diving.
Last checked 2026-09-21
Overview
Underwater Labs are assembled procedurally from modules, so no two are laid out the same. That is why there is no fixed route and no 3D walkthrough here: what does not change is the card chain, the entry through the moon pool, and the fact that every room is hostile until you clear it.
Getting in
The entry is a moon pool — an open hatch in the lab floor from the water below. A submarine is the better option: you arrive dry, with your exit parked in the moon pool. Submarines are sold at Fishing Villages, roughly 200 scrap for the solo and 300 for the duo. Swimming down works with diving gear, but you arrive with no escape vehicle.
The card chain
The same shape as the land monuments: green, then blue, then red.
- Green doors usually need one fuse and a swipe.
- Blue doors add timers and more fuses, and guard more crates.
- Red doors hold the best loot in the lab.
- Because layouts vary, the number of fuses varies too — bring more than you think you need.
The garrison
Expect somewhere between four and eight scientists depending on the size of the lab, all in hazmat with SARs or MP5s. They patrol rather than stand still, and corners are close. Clear each room before you start any timer.
Monument blockers
Since September 2026 the labs are among the monuments whose red rooms can be sealed early in a wipe until someone spends explosives to clear them.
