Farming and early sulfur
Where explosives actually come from, and what a raid costs before you start digging.
Last checked 2026-09-21
Overview
Every raid is a sulfur bill. Knowing the bill before you farm is what separates a planned raid from a week of wasted nodes.
The headline numbers
A C4 charge costs 2,200 sulfur and a rocket 1,400: gunpowder takes 2 sulfur a unit, one Explosives takes 50 gunpowder plus 10 sulfur, C4 is 20 Explosives, and a rocket is 10 Explosives plus 150 gunpowder. Those two numbers price most of the decisions you will make.
- Sheet metal door (250 health): 1 C4 or 2 rockets.
- Garage door (600 health): 2 C4 or 3 rockets.
- Armoured door (1,000 health): 3 C4 or 5 rockets.
- Stone wall (500 health): 2 C4 or 4 rockets.
- Sheet metal wall (1,000 health): 4 C4 or 8 rockets.
- Armoured wall (2,000 health): 8 C4 or 15 rockets — 17,600 sulfur in C4.
Where the numbers come from
They are worked out from the game’s own values, not copied from a table. C4 deals 550 explosion damage; a rocket deals 275 explosion plus 75 blunt. Stone, sheet metal and armoured walls all take half of explosion damage, and every metal door takes 80% of it, so a C4 does 275 to a wall and 440 to a metal door. Divide the health by that and round up.
Where sulfur comes from
Sulfur nodes on the surface, the Quarry, and the Giant Excavator when you can hold it. Node hotspots are contested at peak hours; farming off-peak is worth more than farming faster.
Cheaper than rockets
Satchel charges and explosive ammunition are still viable against softer building grades, and the mortar added in May 2026 gives a siege option — inaccurate, but cheap per shot if you practise the ranging.
Soft sides matter
Walls are cheaper to break from the inside face. Scouting which side is soft before you commit explosives is usually worth more sulfur than farming another hour.
