Dust II: Long, Short and Mid calls
Compare approaches on the map and practise the calls that keep teammates covered.
Last checked 2026-09-27
Overview
Choose a map-linked exercise, inspect its locations, then test your decision. These are communication exercises, not tested routes or grenade lineups.
Callouts to learn together
Community names to cross-check against your team and the current layout: Long, Pit, A site, Short / Catwalk, Mid, Lower Tunnels, Upper Tunnels, B site, CT spawn.
Review the round
Ask what information your team actually had when it committed. Separate a missed shot from an unsupported entry, a late trade or a rotation without evidence.
Agree the opening
Support the first Long contact with a flash and a player close enough to trade. Keep a teammate watching the other approach rather than sending everyone through one choke.
Set the defence
Agree the early Long fight and the fallback before the round starts. A site anchor should buy time for the rotation rather than taking every duel.
Check the rotation
An uncontrolled mid crossing can split your defence. Call whether mid is held, smoked or unknown before moving.
Practise one useful action
Practise crossing a defended sightline with a smoke and a teammate. Check the landing and both edges from the defender’s view.
